Your tasks

• Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Support development teams with database-related tasks and provide guidance on best practices.
• Perform database profiling, performance analysis, and optimizations.
• Collaborate with performance engineers to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Implement and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement solutions.
• Perform database tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
• Ensure data integrity and implement database security measures.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including architecture diagrams and procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in database administration and apply them to improve our processes and systems.
• Participate in the evaluation, adoption, and usage of dedicated tools, dashboards, and reports.

Our requirements

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
• Experience with database monitoring and profiling tools.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (OpenShift is a plus).
• Familiarity with application servers, Java, Java EE, and SpringBoot is a plus.
• Good team player with strong communication and coordination skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of German is a plus.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
