The Director, Cloud Operations provides critical value to the operations of Advantive. This leader will have oversight over the strategy and management of Cloud operations inclusive of implementation, standardization, optimization and management of Engineering and Cloud infrastructure services along with leading the cloud integration of newly acquired business.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience leading and transforming cloud operations with a focus on delivering top-tier clouds capabilities, creating state-of-the-art tooling, enabling robust cloud infrastructure solutions, and emphasizing efficiency, cost optimization, consolidating cloud footprints, compliance, and building strong relationships with both top-tier cloud services providers such as AWS and Azure, as well as next tier specialized cloud providers. Preference will be given to candidates living within proximity to Tampa, Florida, but consideration will be given to any highly qualified candidate accustomed to working within the hours of the Eastern Time Zone.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the Director, Cloud Operations consist of the following:

  • Strategic Leadership and Vision: Align and partner with the development, IT operations and security teams, as well as the product, sales, customer success and support groups on a cloud strategy that integrates business goals, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Guide the CloudOps team to operational excellence and continuous improvement in cloud service delivery.
  • Cloud as a Service Delivery: Manage robust, scalable, and cost-efficient Cloud as a TTV (Time-To-Value) Service offerings, focused on infrastructure, deployment and tooling. Ensure high availability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of the cloud infrastructure.
  • Cloud as a Support: Direct and oversee cloud support for internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal PEQs and OLA measures.
  • Management of cloud infrastructure, server systems, storage, virtualization/containerization and infrastructure as a code development
  • Efficiency and Cost Optimization: Strategically optimize cloud resources and spending. Implement cost-saving strategies and efficient resource utilization methodologies. Provide expertise on efficiency and cost management to internal stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Auditor Interaction: Ensure adherence to compliance standards and regulatory requirements. Actively engage with auditors, manage compliance audits, and incorporate compliance requirements into cloud operations.
  • Owning Cloud Service Provider Relationship through 3rd Party: Build and maintain a strong relationship with AWS and Azure through a 3rd party servicing provider. Manage the partnership to leverage the best services, support, and pricing for Advantive
  • Capability and Capacity Building: Develop enduring capabilities in the team through building bootcamps, training, mentoring, and hiring top talent at onsite or at offshore entities. Cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, technical and financial excellence.
  • Budget Management and Financial Reporting: Oversee cloud-related budgets, conduct financial analysis, and report on efficiencies and cost savings. Implement financial controls for optimal cloud spending management.
  • Incident Management and Compliance: Maintain robust incident management processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and controls.
  • Build strategic relationships across business lines to anticipate the needs and preempt the risks encountered by company stakeholders by bridging the understanding of technical and non-technical requirements, understanding business goals, identifying business process gaps and proposing solutions.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts by contributing to the development of Business Continuity Plan
  • Ensure team cohesion and alignment through standing meeting cadence and action-oriented agendas and outcomes.
  • Establish goals (P’s & C’s) for CloudOps department, develop team competencies and manage their performance on an ongoing basis; offer employees ongoing support and coaching to maximize team engagement and performance
