Aptarro is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to provide administrative support to the HR department, as directed by the Sr. Director of Human Resources. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of HR activities and involves a variety of responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience as an HR Generalist, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The role demands a high level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a growing company and team while supporting the HR department’s critical functions across the organization.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment efforts by coordinating job interviews.
  • Initiate background investigations and conduct reference checks for prospective employees.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and training activities.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute office mail.
  • Ensure daily deposit of all checks.
  • Manage executive leadership teams’ time off requests in ADP.
  • Oversee procedures for office supplies management, procurement, and inventory control.
  • Greet office visitors and escort them as needed.
  • Assist with planning and executing special events such as organizational meetings, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Coordinate employee anniversary awards and recognition initiatives including mailing swag boxes to new hires.
  • May assist with payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as an HR Generalist (essential).
  • 1-2 years of office administration experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and employment equity regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and tact.
  • Exposure to payroll practices; experience with ADP is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business communication tools.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • PHR certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
