Product Development Manager
Location : Wellington

This role is responsible for project managing the onboarding of new investment managers and fund sponsors, and the launch of their funds; project managing the launch of new funds and/or the transformation of existing funds within existing schemes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of new Fund Hosting client projects acting as project lead for FundRock NZ and coordinate all internal and external parties (including Product, Investment Management Oversight, Operations, the Supervisor, the Fund Hosting client, and external legal counsel).

  • Drafting project plans and timelines and coordinating internal teams to deliver projects within agreed timeframes and scope.

  • Ensuring all required fund and scheme establishment documents are drafted, including obtaining necessary internal and external approvals and signatures.

  • Management of initial drafting of product material (PDS, OMI and SIPO) in conjunction with external legal counsel, Product and other internal FundRock teams.

  • Drafting of required agreements, such as the Fund Hosting Agreement, IMA and Fee Agreement with input, review and sign-off from appropriate internal teams.

  • Contribute to the drafting and negotiation of initial Service Level Agreements with each new Fund Hosting client.

  • Liaise with external legal counsel and Supervisor as required.

  • Setting up and chairing of regular project meetings and responsibility for ensuring that everyone involved knows their assigned tasks and delivers as per agreed timelines.

  • Obtaining all required approvals through the internal due diligence process; external legal counsel; Supervisor; and FundRock NZ board.

  • Act as project lead for FundRock NZ and coordinate all internal and external parties (including Product, Investment Management Oversight, Operations, the Supervisor, the FH client, and external legal counsel).

  • Drafting project plans and timelines and coordinating internal teams to deliver projects within agreed timeframes and scope, both internally and with the Fund Hosting client.

  • Amending of all required fund and scheme documents in conjunction with Product, other internal teams and external legal counsel.

  • Amending any existing agreements as required (including IMA, SLA etc).

  • Obtaining all required approvals through the internal due diligence process; external legal counsel; Supervisor; and FundRock NZ board.

  • Act as project lead for all fund and scheme wind-ups

  • Assist the wider Product team when capacity allows with Fund Hosting client reporting, product documentation updates and answering queries from clients.

  • Attend Supervisor meetings as requested by the Head of Product.

  • Other tasks as required.

Skills required:

  • 7+ years’ experience within the financial services environment

  • Experience in managing business to business relationships

  • Experience in managing projects

  • Experience in investment product development and management

  • A good understanding of the NZ funds management regulatory landscape

  • The ability to persuade, influence and negotiate desired outcomes with credibility in the B2B financial markets environment

  • A broad understanding of the New Zealand investment management and financial services sector

  • Exposure to business strategy, business process development, governance processes, management, budgeting, and administrative operations is a plus
