Trading & Settlements Officer

Location : Nadi, Fiji

Description

This role will work in the Trading and Settlements Team carry out trading and settlement instructions in accordance Wealth Administration adviser instructions on the Artios platform. This includes working with the Wealth Administration Operations Team, third parties brokers and fund managers.
The key responsibilities within this role are to carry out selected functions of trading and settlement of instructions on assets including but not limited to settling trades, pricing of assets, and any other tasks as directed by the Senior Trading and Settlements officer, your Manager and the Head of Operations Wealth Administration. You will engage in a risk management culture within the team and areas of responsibility to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations.

Job specification

• Trading and Settlement of trades with Registries, Brokers, custody providers and/or end clients, adhering to strict timeframes

• Processing of any rebates/brokerage payments received in a timely and accurate manner

• Timely and accurate processing of any Fund Repayments received

• Completion of Daily Operational Tasks as directed, with a high level of accuracy and in a timely manner

• Maintain a strong understanding of our custodial and trustee obligations, ensuring adherence to all rules and regulations set by any governing bodies

• Support the daily function and operation of Wealth Administration Trading and settlements team by following standard operating procedures in conjunction with ensuring we are mitigating risks

• Actively participate in and identify continuous improvement initiatives t streamline and improve current processes

• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Apex Wealth Administration Operations team

Skills Required:

• A high-level capability in understanding and processing complex functions (Cash & Stock settlement)

• Understanding of the Share Market and general asset trading functions

• Preferably 2-3+ years relevant finance industry experience

• Preferably a custody or fund services background

• Advanced excel skills

• An understanding of key investment principles relating to performance, taxation and trading

• Hands on experience using Bloomberg
