Corporate Actions Officer
Location : Nadi, Fiji
Description
You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Distribution payments within the Apex Wealth Administration custodial service across a wide range of asset classes and currencies.
Key responsibilities within this role include configuring payment files received from third parties, reconciling cash funds received, processing term deposit interest payments and processing distributions on the Artios Platform. You will ensure proper procedures are followed when processing Distributions on behalf of clients and maintain relationships your Corporate Actions Teammates and the wider Wealth Administration Operations Team and Relationship Managers.
You will work as directed by your allocated Senior Corporate Actions Specialist, your Manager and the Head of Operations Wealth Administration. You will engage in a risk management culture within the team and areas of responsibility to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations.
Job specification
Provide a high level of customer service and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks relating to the processing of Distributions across the assets held in the Apex Wealth Administration custodial service
Maintain Bloomberg distribution data and monitor exception reports
Actively participate in and identify continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and improve Distribution processing
Build relationships with key stakeholders and business partners within Apex Wealth Administration
Support the daily function and operation of the Corporate Actions and Distributions team and contribute to the wider Wealth Administration team if required
Maintain a strong understanding of our custodial and trustee obligations, ensuring adherence to all rules and regulations set by any governing bodies
Report and investigate any errors in line with formal risk framework
Skills Required:
Have an excellent understanding of corporate actions distributions including bonds, equities and PIE investment income
Have a clear understanding of various distributions types and NZ taxation requirements across all asset classes
Preferably 2-3+ years relevant finance industry experience
Preferably a custody or fund services background
Advanced excel skills
An understanding of key investment principles relating to performance, taxation and trading
Hands on experience using Bloomberg
