Role: Settlements Specialist

Role Location: Valencia

Role summary:

As a Settlements Specialist at Apex, you become the driving force behind the smooth creation and lifecycle management of securitised notes and certificates, partnering with legal teams to shape deal documentation, coordinating flawless issuance, and managing everything from interest payments and settlements to FOP transfers and secondary‑market activity. You’ll oversee accurate note valuations, maintain investor records through diligent AML/KYC checks, and deliver clear, reliable reporting that keeps clients informed and confident.
Above all, you’ll build strong client relationships, acting as a trusted expert who ensures transparency, precision, and a seamless experience across every stage of the securitisation process.

Job Specification:

  • Issuing Agent Duties: Assisting legal advisors in
    structuring and finalising securitization Notes/Certificates
    documentation.

  • Paying Agent Duties: Managing mark-up/down
    instructions and processing interest payments for
    securitization Notes/Certificates.

  • Settlement Agent Duties: Overseeing settlement
    processes for securitization Notes/Certificates via
    clearing systems.

  • Transfer Agent Duties: Handling free-of-payment (FOP)
    transactions and secondary market trades for
    securitization Notes/Certificates.

  • Calculation Agent Duties: Calculating and publishing note
    valuations.

  • Registrar Agent Duties: Conducting AML/KYC checks on
    bondholders and maintaining accurate records.

  • Maintain and develop the relationship between
    the client and the bank.

  • Reporting & Control: Setting up and delivering control
    reports and client reports to ensure transparency and
    efficiency.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum. Bachelor's or master's degree in finance

  • Strong commercial awareness, analytical and communications skills.

  • Good working knowledge in MS Office suite.

  • Fluent in English (Minimum B2) with excellent written and oral communication skills.


Nice to have:

  • Ideally first professional experience in the Funds industry already Any additional languages, for example: German or French considered a plus.

  • A couple of years of relevant experience.
