The Operational Data Quality Lead is a senior, highly technical leadership role within the Office of the Chief AI & Data Officer (CDAO), responsible for designing, implementing, and operating the enterprise Data Quality monitoring and remediation framework.
This role owns the end-to-end operational data quality lifecycle, including rule implementation, automated monitoring, dashboarding, issue detection, root cause analysis, and remediation tracking across critical data assets and data products.
This is a high-impact, execution-focused role operating in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, where the ability to prioritize, deliver, and continuously adapt is critical to success.
The role works in close partnership with:
- Data & AI Stewardship Lead
- Data Engineering teams
- Platform teams
- Business domain owners
This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring deep expertise in Informatica Data Quality / IDMC / DQ tooling, combined with strong communication and influencing skills.
Strategic Objectives of the Role
This role exists to:
- Make data quality measurable, visible, and actionable
- Provide enterprise-level data quality transparency
- Reduce business risk caused by poor data
- Enable trusted analytics and AI systems
- Move the organization from reactive data issues to proactive quality management
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Data Quality Operations (Core Mandate)
- Design and operate the enterprise Data Quality Operating Model.
- Define and manage:
- Data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency, validity)
- DQ Dashboards - SLAs and thresholds
- Incident and escalation processes
- Own the day-to-day operational health of data quality across domains.
2. Informatica Data Quality Platform Leadership
- Serve as the technical owner of Informatica DQ platforms:
- Informatica Data Quality (IDQ / IDMC DQ)
- Integration with Informatica Data Catalog for DQ visibility
- Build and manage: Automated DQ rules, DQ scorecards and dashboards, Domain and enterprise-level DQ KPIs
- Ensure DQ metrics are: Standardized, Automated, Scalable, Auditable
3. Data Quality Dashboards & Monitoring
- Design executive and operational DQ dashboards showing:
- Data quality scores by domain
- Trends over time
- Top data issues
- Business impact
- Integrate DQ dashboards with:
- Informatica platforms
- BI tools (Power BI / Tableau etc.)
- Provide near real-time visibility into critical data health.
4. Root Cause Analysis & Remediation
- Lead data quality root cause analysis (RCA) for high-impact issues.
- Partner with data engineering and platform teams to:
- Identify systemic causes
- Design remediation solutions
- Track fix effectiveness
- Build a closed-loop DQ remediation process:vDetection → Analysis → Fix → Validation → Prevention
5. Business Engagement & Influence
- Act as the technical face of data quality to business stakeholders.
- Translate DQ metrics into:
- Business risk
- Financial impact
- Operational impact
- Facilitate domain workshops to:
- Prioritize data quality issues
- Align on remediation actions
- Influence product and engineering teams to embed quality-by-design.
Required Experience & Skills
Technical Expertise (Strong Requirement)
- 8–10+ years in Data Quality, Data Engineering, or Data Platforms
- Deep hands-on experience with:
- Informatica Data Quality (IDQ / IDMC DQ)
- DQ rule development and profiling
- Validation, standardization, matching
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills
- Experience building DQ dashboards using:
- Informatica
- Power BI / Tableau / Looker
Data Engineering & Architecture
- Strong understanding of:
- Data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Data lakes and data warehouses
- API-based and streaming data flows
- Cloud data platforms
Root Cause & Problem Solving
- Proven experience leading: Data quality incident investigations, Systemic remediation initiatives
Communication, Influence & Operating Style
- Exceptional ability to explain complex technical issues in business language
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills
- Proven experience influencing:
- Data engineers
- Platform teams
- Product owners
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment
- Comfortable managing multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously
- Strong prioritization and decision-making under pressure
