About the role:
A Client Compliance Officer within Line 1 Operations help Apex Superannuation colleagues to comply with relevant laws and regulations and to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity and professionalism. Compliance Officers provide subject matter expertise and guidance to operational teams to ensure practices are aligned to policies, standards and regulatory obligations. A Compliance Officer makes an impact as a seasoned, professional individual contributor, to work independently, help teammates thrive and collaborate with stakeholders across the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Respond to internal business queries internal queries via email and telephone relating to superannuation fund scheme policies, compliance and legislative items.
Complete various review activities and provide input and/or sign off on the accuracy of documents, including fact sheets, standard operating procedures, business requirement documents and other internal material to ensure compliance with legislative and contractual obligations.
Support the business on defined benefit and fund design activities from a subject matter expertise perspective.
Keep up to date with changes in legislation across the Superannuation industry.
Provide regulatory impact assessment on incidents and support the business on determining best approach on remediation.
Contribute to the team’s development by regular communication with individual team members.
Key Requirements:
Demonstrated relevant experience in the superannuation, banking and finance, insurance or similar industry.
Extensive knowledge of superannuation industry products and services and their application.
Basic understanding of Line 1 Compliance requirements and standards
Experience working with Defined Benefit Superannuation accounts.
Experience in using online information systems, external portals and other applications such as Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Knowledge and skills:
Highly developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to successfully manage competing priorities within a required timeframe.
Highly developed oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
