Role: Senior Client Onboarding Manager

Role Summary:
As a Senior Client Onboarding Manager you will be responsible for leading the Valencia onboarding function, ensuring the effective delivery of client onboarding projects, while managing and developing a high-performing team. The role combines strong people leadership, advanced project management capability, and expertise in the fund administration and financial services industry, ensuring seamless onboarding of new clients, fund launches, and transitions into Business-as-Usual (BAU).
Key responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management
Lead, manage, and develop a team of Client Onboarding professionals across multiple seniority levels.
Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance standards aligned with business priorities.
Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and career development planning.
Drive team engagement, retention, and succession planning within the Valencia hub.
Act as senior escalation point for complex onboarding, operational, or client issues.
Project Management & Delivery Oversight
Oversee the end-to-end onboarding lifecycle for new clients, fund launches, and migrations.
Ensure consistent application of project management standards across all onboarding cases, including: structured project planning and timelines, milestone tracking and reporting risk identification and mitigation
Manage pipeline capacity and ensure optimal allocation of resources.
Ensure delivery within agreed timelines, quality standards, and client expectations.
Financial Services & Product Expertise
Provide oversight and guidance across onboarding activities involving: Investment fund structures (e.g. SICAV, RAIF, SPVs, etc.) KYC/AML processes, client due diligence and account openings and service implementation
Oversee review of fund offering documents (PPMs, LPAs) and client service agreements and legal contracts
Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal policies.
Stakeholder & Client Management
Act as senior point of contact for key clients during onboarding phases.
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders including Sales, Legal, Compliance, Service Delivery, and Technology teams.
Ensure clear, consistent communication and alignment throughout onboarding lifecycle.
Operational Governance & Process Improvement
Ensure adherence to onboarding governance, controls, and global operating standards.
Identify and drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and efficiency gains.
Contribute to strategic initiatives impacting onboarding (e.g. systems, workflows, operating model evolution).
Cross-Location Coordination
Coordinate with global teams (Luxembourg, India, Mauritius) to ensure seamless onboarding delivery model.
Ensure effective transition from onboarding into BAU servicing teams.
Experience & skills needed:
Significant experience in client onboarding, fund administration, or financial services operations
Proven people management experience in a leadership role
Strong project management experience (complex, multi-stakeholder projects)
Solid understanding of investment fund structures and onboarding processes
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
Degree in Finance, Law, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
