Role summary:
The role is part of the Apex Corporate Solutions team reports to the Head of Operations Corporate Solutions based in Madrid (Spain).
This role acts as an international accountant, supporting our clients with month end reporting, intercompany, business support, working capital management and assist the Head of Operations Corporate Solutions and other jurisdictions finance teams if required.
Key responsibilities:
• Take overall responsibility for the accounting, tax and corporate compliance affairs of a portfolio of client companies, including the bookkeeping, preparation and review of management reports and statutory financial statements, oversight and execution of payments, and the preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, withholding taxes, Corporate Income Tax and other applicable filings).
• Manage audit processes for client companies, liaising with external auditors and advisors to ensure the timely completion of audit and compliance requirements.
• Support clients on a broad range of corporate, legal and tax matters, working closely with internal and external specialists when required.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and coordinate effectively with tax advisors, lawyers, notaries, auditors, governmental authorities and Apex offices worldwide
• Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with an international client base, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and service excellence.
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior and senior accountants, providing technical guidance, training and performance feedback to support their professional growth and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
Skills / experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree and from eight - ten years’ experience in an accounting position; exposure to tax driven structures is a definite advantage.
• Excellent work attitude, quick and willing learner and proficient team leader.
• Ability to take initiative; eagerness to pay attention to detail and going the extra mile in all aspects of the role.
• Strong financial/accounting and analytical skills.
• Commercial, dynamic attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Able to work in a team and autonomously.
• Team management
• Able to set priorities, be flexible and highly accurate.
• Knowledge of Real Estate accounting systems e.g., Yardi, Navision is a plus.
• Spanish GAAP & IFRS
• C1 English a must; Advanced use of English, written and spoken
• Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise tasks accordingly
• Ability to take initiative
• Strong work ethic, a proactive approach and can-do mindset
