Job Title: Assistant Manager - Middle Office

Role Summary: We are seeking an Assistant Manager for our Middle Office department. The primary focus of this role is to manage the creation of Daily Soft NAVs for our clients, reconcile fund information from fund managers with our prime brokers, and ensure accurate end-of-month NAV reconciliation with fund accounting. The role also involves creating efficiencies within the Middle Office team by implementing processes through automation, checking Daily NAVs, and overseeing month-end reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily and Monthly NAV Management:
    • Oversee the creation of Daily Soft NAVs.
    • Ensure accurate reconciliation of fund information from fund managers with prime brokers.
    • Perform end-of-month NAV reconciliation with fund accounting.
  • Process Improvement and Automation:
    • Identify areas for process improvement within the Middle Office team.
    • Develop and implement automated solutions to decrease the time taken for daily and monthly tasks.
  • Team Management and Development:
    • Check Daily NAVs prepared by team members and ensure accuracy.
    • Review month-end reconciliation with fund accountants.
    • Mentor and train junior team members, particularly in automation techniques.
    • Ensure that all SLAs are met consistently.
  • Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
    • Act as a point of contact for clients regarding NAV queries and reconciliations.
    • Collaborate with fund managers, prime brokers, and fund accountants to resolve any discrepancies.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance preferable.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the fund industry.
  • Strong knowledge of NAV calculation and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with process automation and implementing efficiency improvements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
  • Motivated and driven with a proactive approach to work.

Preferred Experience:

  • Fund-related accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering laws.
  • Familiarity with striking NAVs.
