The role
We are looking to recruit a candidate at the level of Senior Risk Administrator, to be part of the Risk team and provide support to the Head of Risk in Mauritius with the implementation of, and compliance with the Apex Risk Management Framework. The candidate would need to be motivated, pro-active, willing to take onboard new challenges and be flexible to adapt to changing environment. The candidate will contribute to the implementation and embedding of the Risk Management Framework and Risk function objectives.
Effective and agile risk management is critical in supporting decision-making at Apex.
Skills / experience
■ A degree and / or professional qualification preferrable
■ At least 3-5 years’ experience. Experience in Global Business Sector and Risk management preferrable
■ Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to develop close working relationships with stakeholders
■ Excellent spoken and written English
■ Team oriented and ability to work on own initiative
■ Ability to prioritise, adapt to changing business priorities and multi-task
■ Well organised and can work within tight deadlines
■ Resilience under pressure
■ Proficient with Office 365
■ Critical, analytical & flexible thinking skill
■ Can analyse data and identify trends
Key responsibilities
■ Provide, maintain and implement proportionate Risk Management & Business Continuity Frameworks, to ensure consistent, efficient execution while minimising business impact.
■ Support completion of the Business Risk Assessment and trigger assessments.
■ Assist and provide support with secretariat and management of escalations to Risk Management Committee.
■ Support local management with local risk metrics and tolerances, providing the platform for data driven and efficient local risk assessment and jurisdictional reporting.
■ Assist with monitoring and management of incidents (Issues, breaches, errors, complaints, incidents), drive timeliness, completeness and quality improvement and providing support to First Line of defence.
■ Develop, use, report and monitor business performance and risk culture KRIs and KPIs. Embed, champion, challenge and provide oversight.
■ Assist with reporting to Board / Audit & Risk Committees and other stakeholders.
■ Support with the review of client acceptance submissions in line with Apex Group policies and risk appetite and local laws.
■ Support with policy & procedure development and implementation.
■ Working collaboratively with colleagues on delivery of global or local actions / projects (e.g. from Country Head or Risk function).
■ Proactively engage and support stakeholders to achieve business growth and control environment improvements.
■ Support with delivery of training and risk awareness initiatives.
■ Drive a proactive risk and control culture, embedding the three lines of defence model and accountabilities.
■ Demonstrate accountability in your role by applying a solution focused approach to challenges and change.
■ Deliver on the KPIs and priorities for your function in dedicated timelines.
■ Ad-hoc duties as and when required.
