The Role & Key Responsibilities:
Apex is looking for a Head of Compliance and AML Solutions to work in our Guernsey office. This is a Senior Management position, with primary focus on leading the Client Compliance and AML services team, and acting as a Key Person to an established portfolio of clients in Guernsey. The selected candidate will be expected work closely with Senior Management, the Head of Compliance and other Key Persons of the Apex entities in Guernsey.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
· Leadership of the Compliance and AML solutions team within the Guernsey office;
· Acting as a key person for licensed client entities in Guernsey;
· Day-to-day management of the members of staff within the team;
· Ensuring the team is punctual in the deliverables to clients and in the maintenance of various regulatory registers and compliance/ AML files for clients;
· Monitoring and assessing impact of regulatory developments occurring both locally and at EU level;
· Attendance to client board meetings where necessary to present compliance reports;
· Liaison with the Regional and Global Head for Compliance Solutions to assess potential new services being provided in Guernsey;
· Providing internal training and mentoring to members of staff on compliance matters.
Skills Required:
Candidates should have:
· Industry recognised qualification;
· Minimum 5 years experience in compliance and AML within financial services, preferably in the Funds industry in Guernsey;
· Understanding and working knowledge of Regulatory and AML/CFT legislation in Guernsey and the EU;
· Previous leadership experience within a similar position;
· Have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and approach the job with a positive mind set engaged at providing solutions;
· Attention to detail.
Candidates should also:
· Be capable of multitasking and working under pressure;
· Ensure that an annual AML/CFT client review programme as well as a compliance programme is implemented for clients;
· Ensure that AML Business Risk Assessments are implemented for all clients;
· Be prepared to assess implications of new legislation and implement changes to systems and processes in line with legislative developments or demands from Group;
· Keep track of revenue flows and provide updated statistics and information to Group functions;
· Work on own initiative;
· Become a point of reference for clients.
