Senior Consultant (Senior Associate Level 1) - Accounting

Role Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Department: Accounting

Employment Type: Permanent

Summary of role:

The role is part of the Apex accounting team reporting to the Partners based in Lisbon.

This role acts as a support team member to the accounting team working on the client’s Portuguese companies supporting with review of monthly accounting, month end reporting, preparation, review of tax returns and support to the junior consultants on their roles.

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • Execution and review of accounting for several companies from Apex client portfolio

  • Support to the junior consultants on their tasks to be performed

  • Production of financial monthly and/or quarterly reports

  • Production of financial statements

  • Preparation of tax returns

  • Client relationship and as well with other stakeholder with relation to Client’s operational matters

Skills Required:

  • University degree in accounting or finance

  • At least 3 years of accounting experience with significant exposure to Portuguese tax compliance role and Portuguese GAAP

  • Fluent English knowledge (written & conversational)

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience with accounting ERP’s

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions and make decisions

  • Strong communication, influence and interpersonal skills

  • Organised and accurate in working methodologies
