Country Head of Operations - Jersey

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • The Country Head of Operations is the eyes and ears on the ground for the Global Product and Operations Heads, effectively leading the local operations team in line with the standards and service model as defined by the Global Heads.
  • The Country Head of Operations is a primary point of escalation for the local operations staff, and will manage on the ground staffing issues in collaboration with Regional and Global Operations Heads.
  • Where the country is both a CSL1 and GSC2, the Country Head of Operations is also a primary point of escalation for the local client base, and to this end will work collaboratively with the Client Relationship / Services Managers.
  • The Country Head of Operations should assess and review process and service delivery in the local operations and align with global practices (where relevant) and work with the regional and global heads to optimise. This includes driving out efficiency and optimisation initiatives locally, and ensuing alignment across the product segments.
  • Where there is an acquisition entity, the Country Head of Operations will assist in driving the integration of the acquisition into the Apex structures and processes (from an operations perspective).
  • The Country Head of Operations will participate in local governance committees and internal Boards (as relevant).
  • The Country Head of Operations will participate in recruitment and staff review processes as and when required.
  • Participate in meetings with the local regulator as when required (in line with the Apex Regulatory Engagement Policy).
  • Collaborate with the Client Relationship Managers / Client Service managers to build excellent working relationships with clients; Lead the client outreach program from ops perspective;
  • As products evolve and/or operations standard processes change the Country Head of Operations will embed locally
  • Lead the roll out of group initiatives;
  • Review and recommend changes to client deliverable processes;
  • Oversight of team time/revenue recording;
  • Ensure SLA adherence on invoicing.
  • Crisis committee leader in BCP / DR scenario;
  • Collaborate with other managers in the office to ensure the timely completion of deliverables;
  • Contribute and participate in New Business sales pitches

Skills Required:

  • At least 7 years plus experience in a leadership role incorporating the above functions.
  • A participative management style that aims to motivate staff and develop their skills and capabilities.
  • Previous experience as a director of FSB/TCB businesses is preferrable.
  • Proactive and willing to drive things forward.
  • An ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Flexible in work approach due to nature of the role to meet client deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills.
