Client KYC Manager|Vice President

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the internal review process for various product and service lines within fund administration and other related business lines, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead and supervise KYC/AML operations, including reviewing and approving new business, trigger reviews, and KYC refresh (as part of periodic reviews), ensuring that all KYC processes are executed effectively and in line with company procedures.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the local Client KYC desk and business support jurisdiction, providing leadership and guidance to the teams to ensure efficiency and quality in client onboarding and KYC maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with the JFSC Handbook and maintain a high level of technical expertise in Client KYC, demonstrating a strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and KYC/AML best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks within the KYC processes, working closely with the local compliance team and referring cases when necessary, following company procedures at all times.
  • Oversee the New Business Client KYC process, providing regular status updates to clients and internal stakeholders, organizing weekly calls, and ensuring project / remediation plans are tracked and executed efficiently.
  • Provide specialist KYC onboarding advice across all Apex Group business lines, ensuring client needs are met and fostering strong, collaborative relationships through proactive communication and teamwork.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for all Client KYC related matters, addressing complex queries and issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide day-to-day Client KYC onboarding advice across all Apex Group business lines to best meet their business needs and maintain good working relationships through active communication, facilitation and teamwork.
  • Work to support the integration of Apex acquisition companies to embrace the client KYC experience.
  • Completing any other tasks that may be assigned by the Regional Head of Client Onboarding & KYC.
  • Will report to the Head of Client Onboarding & KYC Channel Islands

Qualifications and skills required

  • An individual with a bachelor/master’s degree qualification or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of KYC experience within the investment fund industry or equivalent.
  • Demonstratable experience in people management, including cross-jurisdictional teams.
  • A good knowledge of the funds industry, experience of different fund structures, domiciles and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills to deliver against agreed deadlines and objectives.
  • Knowledge of Due Diligence, Compliance and Financial Structures in Offshore Locations, with exposure to other geographical locations.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and have the knowledge and skills to use their own initiative in handling clients’ queries and escalate to management when required.
  • Ability to run and deliver on multiple projects and assignments.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changes
