The company is looking for a Test Manager with extensive experience to work closely with the Chief Technology Officer to drive the business’s testing framework. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership experience, a deep understanding of testing practices (manual and automated), and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions. The successful candidate will lead the testing strategy, manage test resources, and ensure the successful delivery of quality assurance across multiple projects.

The successful candidate will be working in the Sydney office, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, working with key personnel across the PAXUS group. The role is a permanent position and will appeal to those who will be comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, team-orientated environment. Hybrid working arrangements are on offer.

Key Responsibilities

General Role Responsibility

  • Lead and manage the test team to deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the PAXUS business analyst and development teams as a key driver of the test discipline.

  • As an advisor to senior management, provide updates on progress and issues relating to software quality.

Specific Role Responsibility

  • Define and implement test strategies, plans, and processes aligned with project and business goals.

  • Coordinate and manage all phases of testing (system, integration, UAT, regression, performance).

  • Oversee the development and execution of automated and manual test cases.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are testable and implemented correctly.

  • Manage test environments and test data.

  • Ensure timely identification, documentation, and resolution of defects.

  • Monitor and report on key test metrics and quality indicators.

  • Continuously improve testing processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Person Specifications:

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications

  • A passion for high quality software development and an interest in the Financial Services industry.

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a Test Manager or Test Lead role.

  • 5+ years of overall experience in software testing (manual and automated).

  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, QA methodologies, and best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Postman, or similar.

  • Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Reputable tertiary qualifications.

  • Ability to work effectively across a multi-region team.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across SQL Server, .NET Core, using Azure DevOps and Git. would be viewed favourably.

  • Test certification/s.
