Apex Risk Technologies (ART) is a leading fintech firm and a critical part of the Apex Group, a global financial services provider. ART clients include alternative investment funds, banks, and fund management companies (ManCo’s).

ART’s core solution is RiskMonitor®, which provides an independent appraisal of investment risk compliance and financial risk exposures. RiskMonitor® produces customisable risk reporting suitable for boards, risk committees and investors as well as risk data required for regulatory submissions.
ART is a fast-growing business and we are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our team in Barcelona. In this role, you will liaise with ART’s CTO, quantitative development team in Barcelona and Apex technology management colleagues globally to ensure the successful evolution of the ART business unit within Apex. This role will also involve liaison with business partners, technology vendors and client counterparties, and colleagues within the Apex Group. This role would suit an ambitious technology professional with a keen and demonstrable interest in quantitative finance.
Job responsibilities:
- Production Release Cycle
- Ownership of business technology processes and documentation
- Coordination and development of source control and change management processes
- Rationalisation of database table and stored procedures
- Key Development Initiatives
- Work closely with product specific working groups to develop new and / or refactor existing databases
- Promote more efficient database connectivity and operations throughout code base
- Promote better and more scalable development practices
- Enable development of ART API functionality
- Internal projects
- Support SOC1/ ISAE 3402 assurance implementation
- Partner liaison
- Regular proactive client engagement on ART KPIs and RiskMonitor usage
Role Requirements:
- Strong Microsoft knowledge in .NET, Visual Studio and SQL Server
- Demonstrable source control experience ideally with both GIT and SVN
- Good business acumen
- Excellent communication skills (English)
Desirable Attributes
- Interest in MATLAB
- Demonstrable interest in quantitative finance
