Solutions and Design Lead
Location : Auckland
Description
To lead the Business Solutions team and develop, support and grow individuals personal and professional development goals as well as creating an inclusive and high performing team of key subject matter experts for Apex NZ in the areas of investment analysis, reporting, process improvement and systems.
Job specification
Set and monitor team members KPI’s and performance to KPI’s
Staff management including regular one-on-one’s and identifying any staff training and development needs
Ensure that all service delivery standards set for the reconciliation division are met
Drive and lead by example the Apex values and be a culture champion
Maintain a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse group of high-calibre employees
Assisting with answering any client questions related to the reporting received and explaining the nature and basis for the calculations, including portfolio performance reporting, and queries and support related to technical trading activity
You will identify common areas of client queries and provide input into either system development or collateral development to help clients make better use of the systems across both Fund Administration and Wealth Administration
Working with Business Analysts and Software Developers to determine what needs to be delivered and ensure that the specifications are accurate from a technical investment point of view and produce meaningful results to clients
You will provide strategic advice around investment platform architecture that most efficiently delivers technical functionality demanded by customers
Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across New Zealand and other regional and global contacts within Apex to address client needs, operational issues, and opportunities, ensuring effective resolution
Supporting spreadsheets, VBA macros and other systems relied upon by the business for their BAU processes
Build and maintain networks and relationships within the industry
Working on the technical aspects of onboarding and transition projects across Apex NZ’s client base
A focus on automation opportunities
Skills Required:
Strong technical analysis knowledge and problem-solving mindset
An understanding of key financial mathematics principals including performance returns, attribution beneficial
Strong communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate technical information in English with an ability to present at an executive leadership level
Ability to explain and simplify technical concepts
A strong focus / commitment to providing quality customer service
A sound understanding of business and industry risk
Strong MS Office skills, particular Excel to intermediate or advanced level
Knowledge of SQL and coding in VBA is advantageous
Proactive positive and “can–do” attitude
Team player and passion for collaboration with peers
Self-motivated and enthusiastic
Comfortable working in an ever-changing environment and ambiguity
Able to handle pressure and deadlines
