Role Location: Jersey

Apex are looking a Manager within accounting who will join a thriving team providing fund accounting and financial reporting service to our largest Private Equity fund client. The role will include financial reporting, NAV reporting and other related duties. The purpose of this role is to account for a large complex fund of funds structure and support the Associate Director or Director.
The Role & Key Responsibilities:
- Act as one of the key relationship and escalation point people in accounting matters on your allocated client portfolio, managing expectations and delivering high levels of client service;
- Lead a team responsible for the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting for a private equity funds of funds;
- Review more complex quarterly and semi-annual management and statutory accounts (including but not limited to NAV and NAV per share calculations, capital calls and distributions, waterfall calculations);
- Manage the audit process, maintenance of audit files and communication/liaison with auditors for client;
- Liaise and act as the day to day contact with the fund manager and other external parties;
- Attend board meetings and present financial information;
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of accountants, including setting objectives and their periodic appraisals.
Skills Required:
- Hold a professional ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA qualification or equivalent;
- Substantial Fund accounting experience preferably within Private Equity in a professional services environment;
- People management experience;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to develop strong, effective working relationships with colleagues and clients;
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to multitask efficiently;
- Knowledge of fund administration tasks would be advantageous;
- A good working knowledge of IFRS and other prominent accounting standards.
