Middle Office Manager (AVP)

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with front office, prime brokers, as well as counterparty and executing brokers on operational/settlement matters
  • Trade support for various fixed income products including (but not limited to) Credit Default Swaps, CDS Indices and CDO’s, including bilateral DTCC settlement and cleared trades.
  • Review of Daily Compliance checks
  • Execute all aspects of trade capture and settlement in a prompt and accurate manner
  • Process non-automated transactions including OTC derivatives and their related cash movements.
  • Process Trade affirmation and confirmation.
  • Investigate and follow-up on trading related discrepancies
  • Complete general trading desk support activities, ad hoc tasks and analyses as required
  • Ensure daily accurate settlement of bonds, FX, money market, and futures.
  • Prepare Cash/Position/Market Value Reconciliations and resolving breaks. Notify Clients/CSMs of valid breaks. If any breaks are due to an erroneous or missing transaction in accounting system, then make necessary adjustments.
  • Review Reconciliation and provide sign off to client.
  • Reviewing corporate actions booked in the system and ensuring same is correctly reflected in the books. Dividends/Interest Reconciliation with Broker reports
  • Assist in determining daily cash positions for all accounts at numerous banks and ensure optimal levels of liquidity for all disbursement accounts.
  • Independently price the Investment positions on a daily & monthly basis.
  • Responsible for accruing/amortizing daily or monthly non-security related Fee accruals
  • Review the PNL before delivering the report to client.
  • Assist with daily risk and end of day reporting, including some performance measurement and attribution
  • Manage existing financial control procedures and proactively identify opportunities for improvement or enhancement to the existing processes and controls
  • Protect investors by independently checking for accuracy and identifying and challenging any deviations from procedures and policies in an informed and professional manner
  • Book, instruct and coordinate timely transfer of securities and cash movements with utmost accuracy and precision

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance, or a relevant qualification
  • Understanding or knowledge of various security types – Bonds, Equities, Futures, CDS, CDS Indices, Forwards, ABS, MBS, TRS, etc.
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle
  • Knowledge and understanding of securities and other financial instruments with an emphasis on Fixed Income Instruments.
  • Cash and position reconciliation, P&L and other accounting reports
  • Computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Calypso, Bloomberg VCON, Markit, IceLink,, DTCC preferred
