Job Title: Payroll Specialist

About the role

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for our employees and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position will be hybrid with an HR reporting line, ensuring that employee data is accurate and up-to-date in our HR system.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, utilizing our payroll system.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including tax withholdings and deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure employee data is accurate and up-to-date in our HR system.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues.
  • Assist with preparing and distributing W-2s and other payroll related documents.
  • Work closely with accounting team to reconcile payroll related accounts.
  • Assist with the implementation of new payroll and HR technologies and systems.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll related data to government agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About you

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or other payroll processing software.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
