About the role


The Team Lead, Revenue Accounting will be responsible for leading the Americas revenue accounting team and monthly revenue accounting operations for the Americas region, partnering cross-functionally with business leaders and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of revenue pursuant to US GAAP and Company policies. The Team Lead, Revenue Accounting will work closely with the Acquisition Integration team to ensure successful implementation of Company revenue recognition policies and procedures for newly acquired businesses in the Americas and accurate post go-live reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and performing analyses to report on key performance metrics of the business including annual recurring revenue and deferred revenue trends.


You will also:


  • Ensures all required monthly and quarterly revenue operations for the Americas are completed and revenues are reported timely and accurately.
  • Works cross-functionally with business leaders, the sales team, finance and others to support the sales cycle and monthly reporting of revenues.
  • Develops and performs trend analyses over KPIs including annual recurring revenues, deferred revenues, etc.
  • Assists with assessment of existing revenue recognition policies, implementation of Aptean revenue recognition policies, and post go live review for newly acquired businesses in the Americas.
  • Identifies and addresses process improvements in the general accounting, billing, and revenue areas
  • Coaches and develops Revenue Accounting staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the annual audit for revenue related matters and requests
  • Responds to all inquiries in a timely manner.


About you


Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in industry or public accounting with a Big 4, national or regional accounting firm with progressive leadership experience. Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition with a software company.


You must also have:


  • Previous experience working with software/technology companies
  • Extensive US GAAP knowledge in ASC 606 revenue recognition
  • Experience with Salesforce and Sage Intacct is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to quickly build relations
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Attention to detail is highly important and a structured methodical approach is necessary
  • Ability to operate on own initiative
  • Successful candidates must have the maturity and ability to work on own initiative in a fast paced environment while maintaining quality of work and effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
