2. GENERAL JOB SUMMARY (1 paragraph overview describing the primary function and focus of this position)

The Senior Engineer, Development is responsible for development tasks like coding and debugging of complex scope using standard concepts and principles. Works as a fully contributing team member, under broad guidance. S/he should be able to apply own judgment and independently determine a course of action to execute it, post review.  S/he is responsible for coaching, guiding and mentoring junior members in the team to help them scale up faster.

Knowledge: Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.

Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.

5. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List the key duties and responsibilities and essential functions of the role)

  1. With ERP Expertise, creates regression impact analysis for customer reported bugs.
  2. Creates high level and low-level design for a given set of functional requirements as a marketable feature or a set of Use Cases.
  3. Develop software for database functionality, GUI based application or web based supporting tools.
  4. Mentors other junior members in the team in terms of technical skills, methodology and product knowledge. 
  5. Has good command in technology of the primary product.
  6. Follows best coding practices, and software control system.
  7. Assists colleagues with design reviews, code reviews, implementation and information about existing implementations.
  8. Expert in one or more modules of the product.
  9. Has good understanding of core modules of secondary product.
  10. Assertive in communication with customers and Regional team.

Work Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience. Typical range is 4-7 years.

 

Knowledge: Team Handling


Skills and Abilities: Strong working experience in Relational
Database, possesses Advanced knowledge of ERP, and Operating systems – unix/linux. Has good experience and knowledge of working on n-tier desktop or client side web application using one or more Web and UI frameworks. Working knowledge of non-functional requirements like Scalability, Performance, and Security, etc. is an advantage. Ability to handle customer, requirement management and release management. Working experience in Agile methologies.
