We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Graduate Operations Analyst (or penultimate year student) to join the Betashares Direct Operations team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to accelerate your career in investment operations and work alongside a high-performing, collaborative team. You will gain exposure to the full operational lifecycle of a wealth platform and build foundational skills in trading, reconciliations, regulatory processes, and automation.
You will work closely with the Senior Operations Manager, as well as other members of the broader business. From day one, you'll play a key role in bringing our strategy to life and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Betashares Direct platform, ensuring a smooth, accurate experience for customers and advisers.

Role Responsibilities
- Action and monitor automated data and control checks
- Conduct daily custody reconciliations for cash, positions and dividends.
- Assist with the enhancement of existing reconciliations and control processes.
- Track and process daily customer deposits and redemptions.
- Process redemption payments and unreconciled cash items.
- Monitor daily trade activity and portfolio execution to ensure accuracy in the Betashares Direct platform.
- Review warehouse exposure throughout the trading day and re-correct positions where required
- Support monthly execution settings maintenance and quarterly asset allocation rebalancing reviews.
- Escalate trade discrepancies and assist in resolving exceptions with internal teams or external brokers.
- Validate daily security prices and ensure data accuracy.
- Assist with maintaining the security universe and updating instrument details as required.
- Process daily in-specie transfer requests for customers wishing to move into Betashares Direct.
- Coordinate with external brokers and our custodian to manage transfer instructions.
- Maintain effective relationships with counterparties to ensure timely completion of transfers.
- Review daily AML monitoring reports for deposits and redemptions.
- Identify and escalate suspicious or unusual activity to the compliance team.
With training and support, you will also gain exposure to:
- Corporate action processing and oversight
- Tax & financial accounts preparation for the scheme and customers
- Regulatory reporting obligations
- Continuous improvement initiatives across automation, process improvement and utilising AI to improve daily processes.
About You
You are naturally curious, analytical and eager to learn how investment platforms work behind the scenes. You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualification (or near completion) in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and structured, analytical thinking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A genuine interest in financial markets and investment products
- Proactive attitude with a desire to automate and improve processes (SQL/Python skills are desirable but not required)
