About the Role As an Operations Systems Engineer within the Betashares Direct Operations team, you’ll design, build and improve the systems and tooling that underpin day-to-day operational processes across the platform.
This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on automation, reliability and operational efficiency. You’ll build robust, scalable solutions that reduce manual effort, mitigate operational risk and improve the resilience of critical workflows in a production financial services environment.
Working closely with the Operations team and Core Engineering, you’ll collaborate on system design, data flows and tooling standards to ensure operational solutions align with broader platform architecture and engineering best practices. This role is well-suited to an engineer who enjoys improving how systems operate in practice and takes pride in building reliable, well-engineered internal tooling.

- Work closely with Core Engineering to align operational systems with platform architecture, deployment practices and engineering standards.
- Support the introduction of new products and features by designing scalable operational processes and supporting systems from inception.
- Investigate and analyse operational incidents related to engineering solutions, contributing to root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
- Ensure operational systems are well documented, maintainable and auditable from a technical and process perspective.
- Contribute to infrastructure, deployment, and CI/CD processes where required to support operational tooling.
- Design and implement lightweight internal user interfaces and dashboards to support operational workflows, collaborating with frontend teams where appropriate.
Skills & Experience

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work through complex operational and technical issues.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams, with clear communication and a pragmatic mindset.
