As a Video Editor at Equity Mates Media, you will work in our production team to bring our podcast and video content to life. This is a hands-on role designed for an early to mid-career editor who wants to develop their skills across both audio and video production.

Equity Mates is one of Australia's largest podcast publishers, and we are growing our video presence across YouTube and social platforms. In this role, you will touch every part of the production process - from raw files through to finished, published content - and grow with the team as our output expands.

Key Responsibilities

Audio & Video Editing Support

• Assist with recording, editing and mixing podcast episodes under the guidance of the senior Audio Editor.
• Learn and operate editing tools including Adobe Audition and Premiere Pro.
• Edit short-form and long-form video content for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other platforms.
• Cut and sequence footage, add captions, graphics, lower thirds and music.

Post-Production & Publishing

• Effectively prioritise tasks to ensure timely delivery of episodes and clips.
• Assist with writing and formatting show notes, video descriptions and metadata.
• Support the upload and scheduling of content across hosting platforms (Acast, YouTube and social channels).
• Ensure all assets are correctly tagged and filed for easy retrieval.

Collaboration & Learning

• Work closely with the production and content team, learning from experienced practitioners every day.
• Join in on broader team discussions about content strategy, audience feedback and platform trends.
• Be proactive in raising ideas and solutions as your confidence and skills grow.
• Support coordination with hosts and guests.

About You

We are looking for someone who is curious, eager to learn and ready to roll up their sleeves. You do not need years of experience - you need the right attitude and a genuine interest in media, finance and storytelling.

• Exposure to audio or video editing, whether through study, personal projects or previous work.
• Familiarity with editing tools such as Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Descript or similar.
• Organised and reliable, with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines.
• Passionate about media and content creation - you consume it, you think about it, you want to make it.
• Collaborative and positive, with a willingness to take direction and grow.
• Interest in finance, investing or personal finance is a real bonus.
