Betashares is seeking a Senior Product Development Manager to translate the Betashares Super strategy into member propositions, experiences and initiatives that improve member outcomes and support acquisition, engagement and retention. Reporting to the Head of Superannuation, this is a senior individual contributor role and the principal Super business owner for member-facing product development.

Working across Super, Product, Design, Technology, Marketing, Data, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance, you will lead priorities from discovery and business case through delivery, launch and optimisation. The role offers broad exposure to strategy, member research, digital product development, commercial analysis and implementation in a regulated environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Translate the Betashares Super strategy into a prioritised proposition, member experience, product development and growth roadmap, with clear measures of success.
  • Identify and assess new propositions and capabilities using member research, behavioural data, service insights, complaints, market analysis and commercial evidence.
  • Own the end-to-end member experience roadmap across acquisition, onboarding, engagement, servicing, retention, contributions and retirement, ensuring initiatives form a coherent experience.
  • Act as the senior Super business owner for member-facing digital development, defining prioritised problems, requirements and measurable outcomes across web, app and digital servicing channels.
  • Lead significant initiatives through discovery, design, build, testing, business acceptance, launch and post-launch optimisation in partnership with Product, Design and Technology.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery across Super, Marketing, Operations, Data, Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance, establishing clear objectives, decision rights, accountabilities, dependencies and escalation paths.
  • Develop business cases and commercial assessments for material propositions and enhancements, and evaluate actual performance across member outcomes, acquisition, engagement, retention and contribution behaviour.
  • Ensure Super-specific regulatory, trustee, operational and member requirements are incorporated early, with appropriate approvals, implementation controls and decision documentation for material changes.
  • Represent Super product development priorities in planning and governance forums, influencing senior stakeholders and shared teams without direct reporting authority.

Key skills and experience

Must-haves

  • 7+ years’ experience across product management, product development, strategy or digital product roles in financial services, including meaningful exposure to Australian superannuation, wealth management or investment platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian superannuation market, member lifecycle and regulatory environment relevant to member-facing product development.
  • Demonstrated experience taking complex customer or member-facing product initiatives from problem definition and discovery through implementation, launch and measurable optimisation.
  • Strong product discovery, customer experience, analytical and data-led prioritisation capability, including the development of commercial business cases and strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with sound commercial judgement and the ability to translate strategy, member needs and regulatory considerations into clear decisions and delivery priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing digital superannuation, wealth or investment platform experiences.
  • Experience spanning traditional financial services and contemporary digital product management.
  • Working knowledge of APRA and ASIC requirements relevant to superannuation product development and member outcomes.
  • Experience using experimentation, behavioural data and member insights to improve engagement.
  • Experience launching a new proposition or material digital capability in a regulated environment.
  • Relevant tertiary and/or superannuation industry qualifications.
