Biocomposites, Inc., a US company based in Wilmington, NC is a subsidiary of Biocomposites, Ltd., an international medical devices company that engineers, manufactures and markets world leading calcium compounds, including STIMULAN, a truly absorbable calcium sulfate recrystallized for use in the presence of infection. Based in Keele, UK, it has global operations across USA, Canada, Europe, China and India.

Job Summary
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing various accounting and data entry tasks with a concentration in Accounts Payable. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Follow-up and Resolution: Ensures that all inquiries are resolved satisfactorily, following up as necessary to confirm that issues have been addressed and solutions are effective. Reporting to Finance Manager.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Works effectively with different teams or departments to ensure project objectives are met, offering support and expertise where needed.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices.
- Processing invoices: Ensuring invoices are received, recorded, and processed accurately and on time.
- Reconciling accounts: Reconciling accounts to ensure that the amounts paid match the goods and services received.
- Managing vendor relationships: Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors, distributors and managing important vendor relationships.
- Monitoring expenses: Monitoring expenses and keeping records for tax purposes.
- Preparing financial reports: Preparing financial reports and performing recordkeeping.
- Staying current: Keeping informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration.
- Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
- Skills: Proficiency in ERP software, and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in data entry.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to Office Dynamics: Ability to work within an office environment during normal working hours and assist other departments.
