About the Role

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing accurate operational demand forecasts and inventory plans to support efficient supply chain operations using data-driven analysis and ERP system tools as well as working with Plant Leaders on weekly plant schedule to meet the Demand Plan. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations to align forecasted demand with business objectives and customer service goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain monthly demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, and business inputs.
  • Develop and maintain a daily and weekly finite production schedule based on customer orders, demand forecasts, inventory targets, and material availability.
  • Monitor and adjust the schedule based on real-time production performance, equipment availability, and unforeseen disruptions.
  • Communicate schedule changes to stakeholders by leading a daily planning meeting with Operations, Customer Service, Quality, and Warehousing.
  • Coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging supplies.
  • Recommend actions to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess or obsolete stock.
  • Maintain and execute production schedules in alignment with contractual commitments to ensure supply obligations are met, preserve strong supplier relationships, and support uninterrupted operations.
  • Optimize production run sequences to minimize changeover times and maximize throughput, while also sequencing production orders within defined capacity and operational constraints, such as capacity, lead times, and labor availability.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and proactively investigate discrepancies between forecasted and actual demand.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand demand drivers, promotional activities, and product life cycles, such as participating in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) monthly meetings.
  • Support new product introductions, product transitions, and discontinuations with timely planning.
  • Responsible for tracking KPIs related to forecast accuracy, service levels, and inventory turn.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in finite and/or demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis in a food or pharma.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Batch Master).
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing plant environments, including frequent walking, standing, and navigating production and warehouse areas.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while utilizing ERP systems, forecasting tools, spreadsheets, and other standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, hair/beard nets, and safety shoes in production areas.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment with varying noise levels, temperature conditions, and changing operational priorities.
