Position Summary:
The Accounting Analyst (AR) supports the Sr. Accountant - AR & Revenue Lead by executing day-to-day accounts receivable activities for the North American region. This role maintains accurate customer and franchisee accounts, applies and reconciles cash receipts, follows up on outstanding balances, resolves routine payment and account issues, and prepares complete supporting documentation for close, audit, and reporting requirements. The Accounting Analyst works across Finance and business teams to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of receivables while delivering responsive service to franchisees, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable Execution: Manage assigned accounts receivable activities, including customer and franchisee account maintenance, collections follow-up, cash application, credits, refunds, and account reconciliations.
- Aging and Collections: Monitor assigned AR aging and proactively follow up on overdue balances, unapplied cash, customer credits, refunds, and collection issues; research routine discrepancies and escalate higher-risk or complex matters.
- Cash and Deposit Application: Record customer and franchise-related deposits in the accounting system, apply receipts accurately to the appropriate accounts and invoices, and maintain complete supporting documentation.
- Franchise Receivables: Support franchise-related billing and receivable activities, including processing and tracking franchise fees and other approved charges and payments.
- Reconciliations and Exceptions: Prepare customer and franchisee account reconciliations and supporting schedules; research payment variances, deductions, negative balances, and other exceptions for timely resolution or escalation.
- Close and Reporting Support: Complete assigned month-end and year-end close activities, including AR reconciliations, deposit schedules, aging reports, and related documentation for Sr. Accountant review.
- Stakeholder Service: Partner with franchisees, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve billing, payment, and account questions while maintaining clear communication and professional working relationships.
- Controls and Audit Support: Maintain records in accordance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation standards, and respond to assigned audit requests accurately and on time.
- Process Improvement and Digital Fluency: Identify recurring issues and support process, system, automation, and AI-enabled improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen data quality, and improve AR and franchise receivable processes while protecting confidential information.

Success Metrics:
- Timely follow-up on outstanding receivables, with assigned aging maintained within established company targets.
- Accurate and timely cash application, deposit entry, customer and franchisee account maintenance, and reconciliations.
- Assigned AR, deposit, close, and reporting deliverables completed by established deadlines.
- Measurable reduction in unapplied cash, overdue balances, account discrepancies, and unresolved billing issues within the assigned portfolio.
- Complete, organized, and audit-ready supporting documentation aligned with company policies and internal control standards.
- Responsive service and effective collaboration with franchisees, customers, the Sr. Accountant, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting operations, cash application, collections, or a related accounting role.
- Experience preparing account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and documentation for month-end close or audit review.
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, including aging, collections, cash application, credits, refunds, and account maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working in an ERP or accounting system.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage recurring deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to resolve routine account questions professionally.
- Ability to use approved AI-enabled and automation tools responsibly to support research, documentation, reconciliations, and process efficiency while maintaining data confidentiality.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting franchise, membership, multi-entity, or multi-location organizations.
- Experience supporting U.S. and Canadian customer or franchisee accounts.
- Experience with deferred revenue support, franchise fees, or high-volume receivables.
- Experience supporting process improvements, system enhancements, or automation within Finance.

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Close visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
