The Role:
FilmFreeway is seeking a Senior Product Manager to help us drive and innovate the leading platform connecting filmmakers with Film Festivals. In this role, you’ll be part of a small but high impact team of four engineers working directly with our users and CX team to launch features weekly, gain feedback, and craft strategy. We adhere to agile principles with a modified Kanban process, where we collectively contribute to several projects at a time, leveraging Jira to create tickets. From there, we brainstorm issues, assign and manage work, and deploy changes.
As our sole Product Manager, you will have a high degree of autonomy and ownership in how the outcomes we need are achieved.You’ll be working closely with the General Manager of Film Freeway and leadership of our other brands to continue to deliver upon the product roadmap and other objectives.
The Senior Product Manager reports directly to the General Manager of FilmFreeway.
What you’ll do:
Review, guide, and adapt our product roadmap to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our users and business goals.
Work with business leaders on our quarterly planning cycle to identify the key tactics we pursue each quarter.
Translate high level initiatives into one-pagers describing the opportunity, tactics, and next steps to deliver on quarterly plans. Get buy-in with both stakeholders, peers, and your team on the tactics.
Writing Epics, Stories, and Bug tickets to maintain a healthy backlog of work for an engineering team.
Running weekly Sprint Planning and Pre-Planning sessions as well as daily standups to keep our engineering team on track.
Helping to coordinate communication on new feature launches with our in-house teams and informing end users of new features we’re delivering.
Working with our data team to implement analytics, reporting, and tracking key performance indicators.
Understanding KPIs that monitor our overall marketplace health and identifying trends and key changes.
Work with other internal departments to ensure they’re getting the data and reports they need from our business.
What we’re looking for from you:
At least 3 years of experience in a product owner role working directly with engineers on a single team.
Experience working on a team that launches new features weekly.
Experience with two sided marketplaces connecting two different groups of users based on their needs.
A solid understanding of using Jira to run 2 week sprints, document initiatives, and track development progress.
Familiar with using Confluence to frame ideas, gain input, and get alignment.
Working with Data teams to construct reports in Looker or similar reporting tooling.
Working with Analytics teams to identify valuable data points to store and implement Amplitude with engineering teams.
Reviewing a product from the perspective of various user groups and identifying areas to improve.
Writing high quality tickets and helping engineering teams guide them through to launch by providing any missing details or resolving blockers.
Working with our CX and Operations teams to help identify the most important issues to fix for users and what can wait.
