About the Role
Cast & Crew is looking for a Backend Development Intern with a focus on .NET Core to join our Technology & Product team. This internship offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-grade software solutions that support film, television, and live event production. You'll collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to help design, build, and maintain modern, scalable backend systems.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to backend services and APIs built using .NET Core / C#
• Assist in designing and implementing features for distributed systems
• Work with SQL Server and other relational databases to build robust data access layers
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, and product teams to build and ship features
• Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Help with unit/integration testing and bug fixing
• Learn about backend performance optimization and system security

What We’re Looking For

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Strong knowledge of C# and familiarity with .NET Core
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, object-oriented programming, and service-oriented architecture
• Exposure to SQL and database design principles
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Enthusiasm to learn and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Entity Framework Core, LINQ etc.
• Experience with Azure, Docker, or containerized development
• Exposure to unit testing and mocking frameworks
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins
• Interest in enterprise SaaS or payroll/HR technology

Special Work Conditions

• Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.

Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. The compensation range for this position is: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour.
