THE ROLE

Certinia is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Technical Writer I to join our dynamic Content team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to crafting high-quality, user-centered product documentation and learning modules that empower our global customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE

  • Write for clarity and impact: Craft clear, concise, and accurate content, such as online Help and other supporting product documentation, to effectively guide and inform our diverse range of users.
  • Research, gather, and analyze product information, translating it into clear, accessible content for our customers. You'll learn to understand the intricacies of enterprise solutions, potentially building on any exposure you have to ERP/PSA, CRM, CPQ solutions, and cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate effectively: Work closely with various stakeholders and team members to ensure all content produced is evidence-based, user-centered, and continuously optimized. Your collaborative mindset and proactive communication will be key to sharing insights, ideas, and receiving feedback.
  • Design content for clarity: Learn to design online documentation that meets user needs and helps make complex processes easy to follow.
  • Ensure accuracy: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the organization to ensure content is accurate and reflects customer usage patterns.
  • Participate in peer reviews: Take part in peer reviews of the Content team's output, learning to maintain high standards across all deliverables.
  • Contribute to team methods: Actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Content team's working methods and processes by sharing observations and ideas.
  • Support usability: With guidance, create consistent screen text and messages, and contribute suggestions for improvements that enhance software design and overall usability.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Eagerness to Learn Technical Tools and Standards: A strong interest in and aptitude for learning industry-standard authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare) and fundamental concepts of content structuring technologies like XML, DITA, or Markdown.
  • Have a technical aptitude: Demonstrate a strong technical aptitude, including an interest in or foundational understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab) and a strong willingness to learn about 'docs-as-code' workflows.
  • Embrace a collaborative mindset: Focus on team success, be open to learning from others, and proactively share insights and ideas in a timely manner.
  • Eagerness to learn about Professional Services organizations: Continuously enhance your knowledge of our solutions and the personas they serve.
  • Work effectively in a global team: Show an awareness of multi-cultural working styles and behaviors, which is crucial for success within a global organization.
  • Hold a relevant qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as Technical Communication, English, Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • Have relevant experience: Possess entry-level experience and a foundational understanding of the Technical Writing discipline.
