THE ROLE

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting the payroll processes for US and Canada. The role is fully remote, reporting to the Global Payroll Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE

  • Prepare monthly data input for all assigned payrolls and prepare payroll in line with all monthly cut-off dates
  • Prepare compensation elements, Accruals and Journal Entries.
  • Accurately maintain all third-party payroll requirements.
  • Manage relationships with various stakeholders (i.e., Finance, HR, etc.) to ensure end-to-end process excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies
  • Supporting employees.
  • Provide assistance when required with the related teams in project implementation tasks, audits and year end.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance audits such as Worker Compensation for the US payroll.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ payroll experience
  • An exceptional eye for detail as well as a proactive and methodical approach to payroll operations.
  • Ability to adapt to change and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of working with a global payroll provider/system, UKG required.
  • Ability to take ownership of payroll processes.
  • Problem solving mindset & positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup and other formulas).

WHAT ELSE WOULD BE GREAT

  • Knowledge of basic local payroll legislation for Canada, desirable but not necessary.
