With direction, Software Engineer to develop web applications and websites. They will assist customers to come to a finalized design concept after discussion that satisfies their brand needs as well as developing the web application generated from the design. The position is staffed by personnel who have had sufficient educational background and/or the experience to qualify them to start a career in software development. The general duties will include developing websites for customers that meet the latest web standards, including the WCAG 2.2 guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Write and develop web application code using the latest web standards to generate markup representations of mockups they design or others design.
· Manage project timelines with customers to launch web applications by designated deadlines.
· Form effective communication with customers to fulfill needs, resolve concerns, or direct on progress for projects.
· Performs routine/simple code review changes made by self and/or others.
· Communicates progress of assigned activities and escalates roadblocks for completing work as assigned.
· Progressively learns the tools, processes, and products of CSI; shows progress towards becoming self-sufficient with assigned tasks.
· Provide troubleshooting assistance for production incidents.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
PRIMARY RESULTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ACHIEVING
· Create web application designs that meet the CSI standards for web applications and the standards of our customers.
· Successfully develop web applications modeled after CSI designs or a 3rd party design team while meeting the CSI web application standard and our customer expectations
· Timely resolution or escalation of incidents.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Certifications:
Accredited university, college or trade school education and training in applicable technology.
Experience:
Professional level position in described technology. Zero (0) to three (3) years of successful, hands-on work experience in a relevant technical field.
Required Skills:
· Demonstrates technical competencies, such as but not limited to:
o Ability to develop web applications using CSS3, HTML5, Javascript, and PHP
· Problem solving mentality with self-sufficiency
· Communication skills – written and oral within teams and to external customers and entities.
· Collaboration and teamwork
· Mobile/Responsive Web Development experience
· Understanding of Accessibility focused technology
· Familiarity with WordPress or similar PHP based CMS framework
· Git or other version control software
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
This position requires contact primarily within the department and with customers to determine how to proceed on projects and meeting customer needs. Will also be responsible for collaborating with adjacent CSI teams to ensure project deadlines and customer support..
DECISION MAKING
The position requires frequent decision making in regards to creating application interfaces that meet expectations.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General Supervision. Assignments are both task-oriented and objective-oriented. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. This position requires the basic need to look at a computer screen up to 8 hours a day. This position requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
