Job Description:
A manager follows direction of senior management and ensures that team function/department is staffed properly, employees have the training and tools they need, OKRs are met, and the department is managed to perform within approved budgets. The manager is a tactical leader for day to day interaction and decision making for the team and/or function. Provides estimates supporting needs, schedules, and assigns work to meet service targets.
The Manager – Database Administration position is responsible for overseeing the administration of the organizations database(s), analyzing staff needs of the database(s), and contributing to the development of a long-term strategy for data storage. They collaborate with various CSI teams to ensure the optimal operation of critical business applications, ensure incident management is efficient, ensure change management is successful, and to identify key database process methods for consistent and efficient delivery of service.
Responsible for a team of employees within the department.
Hires, trains, evaluates performance of team.
Communicates policy and strategy to department employees.
Schedules employee tasks, following budgets.
Continual improvement and problem solving.
Upholds all policies and procedures, company culture and values.
Over eight (8) years of successful, in-depth work experience in relevant technical field with knowledge of database concepts and technologies coupled with staff and/or project management experience demonstrating successful leadership competencies. Accredited university, college, or trade school education and/or training in applicable technology, advanced degrees or certifications recommended.
