Software API Testing Engineer

Job Description:
Join our Quality Assurance team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of APIs that power financial institutions. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and execute tests for banking APIs used by internal and external systems, while driving improvements in API validation and automation.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and implement API test strategies.
Analyze acceptance criteria, create test cases, and maintain automated test suites for API validation.
Identify opportunities to improve API testing processes and automation frameworks.
Lead API testing efforts independently and actively participate in Agile ceremonies.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
3–5 years of experience in software engineering or testing, with a focus on API testing and automation.
Strong understanding of RESTful API concepts, design principles, and best practices.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
Experience with API testing tools and automation frameworks (Postman, Playwright, Jest, Jasmine).
Experience with GIT, JIRA, Confluence, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
Experience with API performance and security testing.
Exposure to testing AI-driven applications.
Advanced experience with Playwright.
Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
Technical Stack
Postman, Playwright, and other API testing and automation tools.
Success Measures
Delivery of accurate, stable, and reliable API solutions.
Timely completion of API validation cycles and releases.
Documented enhancements to API testing processes and automation.
Effective collaboration and communication across teams.
High satisfaction from internal stakeholders and end users through reliable API deliverables.
