About the Role

The IT Security Analyst performs two core functions for the enterprise. The first is the day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions while the second is the identification, investigation and resolution of security events and incidents detected by those systems. Secondary tasks may include involvement in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments.

The IT Security Analyst is expected to be fully aware of the enterprise’s security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing enterprise security architecture and creating security documents.
• Participate in developing and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Be up to date on IT security industry trends, including new solutions, processes, and threats.
• Recommend and apply enhancements to bolster security for existing solutions, following best practices and organizational protocols.
• Deploy and configure new and existing security solutions, ensuring alignment with the enterprise's security framework.
• Ensure all devices are securely configured and operated, maintaining standards for baselines and configurations.
• Monitor security solutions for efficient operations, interpret device logs and reports, and devise resolution plans.
• Investigate security incidents, assist in vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and audits.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience within the IT operations environment and from using related technologies.
• At least 2 years of experience with IT security.
• Experience with NDR/IDS, Vulnerability scan, EDR, SIEM/SOAR, WAF, IAM or other security solutions.
• Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, DNS, and other network administration protocols.
• Experience from Security Incident Response Team or SOC.
• Knowledge of Security products in public cloud providers.

Required Education & Certifications:

• College diploma or university degree in computer science and/or years equivalent work experience.
• One or more of the following certifications:
• ISC2 CC, SSCP, CCSP
• GIAC Information Security Fundamentals
• CompTIA Security+
• AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate
• SC-100: Microsoft Security Architect
• SC-200: Microsoft Security Operations Analyst
• SC-300: Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate
