About the Role
The IT Infrastructure Delivery Engineer is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for the successful implementation, deployment, and operational handover of core IT infrastructure projects across Cyncly’s global environment.
This position focuses on the delivery pipeline - taking infrastructure designs and turning them into stable, secure, and scalable production systems. The Engineer will primarily be involved in configuring, deploying, and optimizing solutions encompassing cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), network systems, servers, storage, and virtualization technologies. A strong background in project execution and rigorous adherence to best practices and security standards is essential for success.
Key Position Responsibilities Include:
Infrastructure Delivery & Deployment
- Execute and deliver complex infrastructure projects, ensuring solutions are deployed successfully, on time, within budget, and adhere to technical specifications.
- Perform configuration, deployment, and integration of core infrastructure components, including network devices (routing, switching, firewalls), physical and virtual servers, and storage systems (SAN/NAS).
- Lead the deployment and configuration of enterprise cloud services, specifically focusing on Microsoft Azure and AWS IaaS and PaaS environments.
- Collaborate closely with architecture and security teams to implement and enforce security measures during all deployment phases, ensuring infrastructure compliance.
Operational Efficiency & Automation
- Develop and implement automation and orchestration solutions (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform) to streamline infrastructure deployments, configurations, and lifecycle management.
- Participate in capacity planning and scalability assessments, ensuring implemented solutions are future-proof and can accommodate projected growth.
- Use of AI to improve the outcomes
- Work with Operations teams to facilitate smooth handovers of new infrastructure components, including developing runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
- Monitor system performance during and after deployment, performing optimization and fine-tuning to guarantee maximum performance and availability.
Support and Documentation
- Provide L4 troubleshooting and technical expertise to resolve complex, escalated infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all infrastructure configurations, deployment procedures, and support guides.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in infrastructure delivery and cloud engineering.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4-6+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, with a specific focus on project delivery and implementation.
- Cloud Platforms: Configuration and deployment within Azure and/or AWS environments.
- Server Administration: Expertise in both Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Virtualization: Proven experience with platforms like VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Networking: Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall management.
- Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure deployment challenges.
Desired Skills and Certifications:
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP).
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, methodologies.
- Experience in supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
