About the Role
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to drive modernization and operational excellence for legacy applications transitioning to cloud environments. This role will focus on designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, and optimizing infrastructure for applications that are partially or fully migrated to Azure or other cloud platforms. You will lead a team of DevOps engineers, collaborate with development and operations teams, and ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
Cloud & Legacy Application Support
- Assess legacy application architecture and define migration strategies to Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Implement hybrid deployment models for applications partially migrated to cloud.
- Optimize performance and reliability for legacy systems integrated with modern cloud services.
CI/CD Pipeline Design & Automation
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for legacy and modern applications using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
- Automate build, test, and deployment processes for on-prem and cloud environments.
- Ensure pipelines support rollback, blue-green deployments, and zero-downtime releases.
Infrastructure & Environment Management
- Manage hybrid infrastructure combining on-prem servers and cloud resources.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
- Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization and costs.
Security & Compliance
- Apply secure deployment practices for legacy and cloud-based applications.
- Manage secrets and credentials using Azure Key Vault or equivalent tools.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline delivery.
- Communicate technical strategies and progress to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10-12 years of experience in DevOps roles, with at least 3+ years in a lead capacity.
- Strong expertise in Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline design.
- Experience managing hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of legacy application architectures and modernization strategies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Exposure to microservices and distributed systems.
