About The Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will help evolve, operate, and secure our Internal Developer Platform (IDP), ensuring it remains scalable, secure, and easy to use for development teams across the company.
This position requires deep technical expertise in GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and strong hands‑on experience in DevSecOps and application security, including GitHub Advanced Security.
You will work closely with engineering, security, and cloud operations teams to drive automation, standardization, and the adoption of platform best practices.
Availability from 12:30 pm IST to 9:30 pm IST is a requirement for this role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), ensuring reliability, scalability, and developer experience excellence.
- Maintain and administer GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps as primary platform tooling.
- Configure, enforce, and continuously improve centralized security and compliance rulesets, including Branch protection rules, Quality gates, Security policies, Workflow governance.
- Implement and maintain workflow automations to streamline development, CI/CD, and governance activities.
- Manage and review access controls, ensuring least privilege and compliance with GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps best practices.
- Integrate and operationalize GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), including Code scanning, Secret scanning, Dependency scanning, Depencency review for OSS license compliance.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce secure-by-default patterns across the platform.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers on DevSecOps best practices and platform capabilities.
- Continuously monitor platform performance, usage, security posture, and drive improvements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Operations or Application Security.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (Azure Boards, Azure Repos – Git + TFVC, Azure Pipelines – Classic + YAML, Azure Artifacts – NuGet + NPM, Azure Test Plans).
- Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise (Governance including centralized rulesets and policy enforcement, access management with Entra ID, GitHub Actions, GitHub Pages, GitHub Issues, GitHub Codespaces).
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices (SAST, SCA, DAST, CI/CD best practices, SDLC end-to-end understanding).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or Bicep.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Experience with DevOps toolchain data extraction from GitHub Enterprise APIs and Azure DevOps Analytics API (OData) (preferred).
- Understanding of engineering metrics such as code coverage, test automation coverage, pipeline failure, and DORA metrics (preferred).
- Certifications in Azure, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Enterprise (preferred).
