About The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure SQL, and OneLake. As part of our data engineering organization, you will design, build, and optimize analytical solutions and dashboards that power decisionmaking across engineering teams.

You will work closely with DevOps, platform engineers, and leadership to transform complex datasets—including data from GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps—into actionable insights. A strong understanding of engineering metrics, developer productivity analytics, and data-driven performance measurement is essential.

Availability from 12:30 pm IST to 9:30 pm IST is a requirement for this role.


Main Responsibilities:

Data Architecture & Modelling

  • Design and implement data models aligned with medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Develop scalable semantic models for analytics and reporting using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
  • Maintain high data quality, documentation, and lineage across OneLake-based architectures.

Platform Engineering & Data Pipelines

  • Build, optimize, and maintain data ingestion pipelines from internal engineering platforms such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise
  • Implement CI/CD best practices for data workflows using Azure DevOps Repos/Pipelines.

Performance & Cost Optimization

  • Conduct performance tuning of Fabric pipelines, Power BI models, and Azure SQL workloads.
  • Implement cost governance strategies using Fabric monitoring and capacity management tools.

Engineering Metrics & Reporting

  • Develop robust metric frameworks for engineering productivity, including deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR, code activity, and quality indicators.
  • Create high-impact dashboards and reports using Power BI and Fabric Real-Time Analytics.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with DevOps, platform engineering, and product teams to define data needs and deliver insights.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics architecture.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Engineering, Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Real-Time Analytics), Azure SQL, and OneLake.
  • Experience with CI/CD for data assets.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data transformation frameworks.
  • Experience in developing engineering KPIs, productivity metrics, and platform telemetry analysis.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Experience with DevOps toolchain data extraction from GitHub Enterprise APIs and Azure DevOps Analytics API (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, semantic models) (preferred).
  • Certifications in Azure Data Engineering, Microsoft Fabric, or Power BI (preferred).
