Position: Software Development Lead

Location: Remote - United States

Contract: Full-Time Permanent

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead design and development of application features across backend, frontend, or full stack (depending on team structure).
  • Review code for quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Advocate for engineering best practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and clean architecture.
  • Help troubleshoot complex technical issues and guide root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance to junior and mid‑level developers.
  • Support task planning, estimation, and sprint execution.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, QA, and UX teams to ensure clear requirements and aligned expectations.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing, pair programming, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Participate in onboarding and mentoring new team members.

Project & Delivery Management

  • Break down high‑level requirements into actionable development tasks.
  • Ensure timely delivery of software features with predictable execution.
  • Identify delivery risks early and escalate appropriately.
  • Maintain strong communication with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Quality & Process Improvement

  • Promote test‑driven development and overall quality assurance.
  • Suggest improvements to development workflows, tooling, and documentation.
  • Support performance optimization and technical debt reduction initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4–7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks (Microsoft Entity Framework, C#, .NET, React—depending on organizational stack).
  • Experience leading small teams or acting as a senior/lead developer.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, REST APIs, cloud platforms, and modern development practices.
  • Strong debugging skills and ability to guide others through technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub).
  • Familiarity with microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or distributed systems.
  • Experience mentoring or formally supervising developers.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, we are committed to providing clear and equitable compensation information. For this remote position, the expected salary range is $100,000 - $127,000 USD, depending on location, experience, and qualifications. Candidates applying from jurisdictions with specific pay disclosure requirements (e.g., California, Colorado, New York, Washington, Illinois, British Columbia) will receive location-specific compensation details in compliance with local laws.
