POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a talented and innovative Instructional Designer to join our Learning and Development team. As an Instructional Designer, you will play a key role in creating engaging and effective learning experiences for our employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design methodologies, a creative mindset, and a passion for developing high-quality training materials.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Needs Analysis:

**Position requires availability during AMS business hours. Location: Cape Town

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to conduct thorough needs analysis and identify learning objectives.
  • Assess existing training materials and identify opportunities for improvement and updates.

Instructional Design:

  • Develop instructional materials, including e-learning courses, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and multimedia content.
  • Utilize instructional design models, such as ADDIE, to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
  • Design assessments and evaluations to measure learning outcomes.

Content Development:

  • Create visually appealing and interactive content that aligns with adult learning principles.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, multimedia specialists, and other team members to enhance the visual appeal of training materials.
  • Ensure content is accessible and inclusive for diverse audiences.

Technology Integration:

  • Stay current on instructional design trends and emerging technologies.
  • Incorporate technology tools and platforms to enhance the delivery and accessibility of training content.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough reviews and quality assurance checks on all instructional materials.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and end-users to make continuous improvements.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align instructional design initiatives with organizational goals.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to facilitators and trainers to ensure effective delivery of instructional materials.
  • Offer guidance on best practices for incorporating instructional design principles into training programs.

Other duties may be required/assigned for business needs.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Instructional Designer, preferably in a corporate or organizational setting.
  • Significant experience and ability to develop content for diverse professional/corporate teams.
  • Proficiency in instructional design software and e-learning authoring tools including but not limited to Articulate 360 Suite, Vyond, Adobe Creative.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems including content management, evaluation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
