Job summary

We are in the market for a Senior Payroll Specialist based in Cape Town with excellent payroll administration skills and a versatile ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced global technology company.

Strong knowledge of South African payroll is required. The primary focus of this role is international payroll processing for Japan, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium, and Singapore.

What you will do

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of international payrolls across Japan, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium, and Singapore, as well as South African payroll.
  • Manage statutory deductions and compliance obligations specific to each jurisdiction, including social security, pension contributions, income tax withholding, and other country-specific payroll-related deductions.
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of payroll inputs and outputs to ensure accuracy of payroll processing.
  • Identify areas to improve payroll efficiencies.
  • Maintain SOP documentation.
  • Serve as liaison to payroll vendors.
  • Support payroll audits as required.
  • Providing support to the Payroll Manager and team.
  • Other duties and special tasks as required.

What you will have

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma (strongly preferred).
  • 4+ years of solid end-to-end payroll processing experience (technology industry preferred).
  • Native or bi-lingual proficiency in English (essential) with professional written and verbal proficiency in English (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and practices (essential); knowledge of payroll regulations for Japan, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium, and Singapore (preferred)
  • Certified Payroll Processor (preferred).
  • ADP Workforce Now and ADP Streamline Experience (preferred).
  • Prior experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced payroll environment.
  • Self-motivated by opportunities to gain knowledge and improve processes.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and discretion, able to work confidentially.
  • Ability to work independently and well under pressure with exceptional work ethic, organization, and time management skills.
