Position Overview

VitalEdge Technologies is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, who will be critical to providing financial visibility and business insights to the senior leadership. The ideal candidate should excel at analyzing complex data sets, have a passion for problem solving and be comfortable with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for this role is to build consistent and actionable management reporting tools that provide visibility to key operational and financial metrics. This will require the ability to understand VitalEdge’s data (e.g. financial data, ordering and billings data) and build reports to support decision making. With these critical objectives in place, the role has the opportunity to expand responsibilities to include revenue planning and forecasting.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze large complex data-sets, while validating the data. Develop new tools in order to support scalable analysis and continuously find ways to improve data quality.
  • Reporting: Design and publish reports and dashboards to track key business metrics and to provide actionable insights to management. Lead efforts to automate and provide self-service access to reporting wherever possible.
  • Financial Planning: Assist the FP&A team with the annual planning process by providing key drivers and inputs for the plan. Learn and understand the business while staying current on initiatives, challenges and opportunities across the business. Develop an understanding of critical business performance drivers.
  • Financial Analysis: Support the FP&A team to understand business results including explanations of performance relative to prior periods, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Systems support: Support the transition to and implementation of systems and tools that improve our ability to execute FP&A objectives. Serve as a super-user of key FP&A and Financial Reporting applications.
  • Additional responsibilities as required in support of FP&A objectives.

Required Skills and Education

  • 2+ years of experience in Finance
  • Experience in the SaaS software industry
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel (PowerPivots, power query , VLOOKUPS, Macros)
  • Experience developing databases and dashboards as well as ability to learn new systems and tools
  • FP&A Tool experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, data validation experience and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across cultures, departments and to senior leadership. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work across a global team.
  • BA or BS degree in Finance, Economics or in a related field
