Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented senior commercial accountant for a non-traditional accounting and finance role within our organization. If you are looking for a traditional accounting role where are only doing debits & credits, and account reconciliations, this is not the role for you. While you may be tasked with some traditional accounting duties, you will be primarily operationally and commercially focused. You will be working with other functional teams throughout the organization in a highly visible capacity. This includes supporting our sales and client experience teams to drive revenue and profitability. The Senior Accountant should enjoy a fast-paced, dynamic environment, be a team player and have an excellent ability to prioritize individual and team objectives.

To be successful as a senior commercial accountant, you should have a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess advanced Excel skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and be able to work with little to no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review customer and vendor agreements; Assist with preparation of customer agreements
• Compute sales commissions
• Coordination of accounting matters with other departments
• Prepare Ad-Hoc analysis and reports for business units

• Maintain documentation of current processes and procedures

• Help maintain and review other accounting & finance schedules and KPIs including bookings schedules, revenue waterfall, etc.
• Banking – remote deposits and ACH or wire transfers
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
• Performing other accounting duties and supporting other staff as required or assigned
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Required Skills & Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA strongly preferred
• 3+ years of industry accounting experience or audit experience with top-tier audit firms
• Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
• IT/Software industry experience
