Position Overview

As a Senior Software QA Engineer at VitalEdge, you will design and build automated tests and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Test Automation Framework and System. Automation scope includes web, mobile and api products, including regression tests, health-checks, and other scripts. Test execution is integrated with a cloud-based CI/CD platform, based on a defined release process.

You bring a strong understanding of quality and test design, achieving effective test coverage, code reuse, and traceability using a data-driven, risk-based testing approach.

You demonstrate advanced programming skills and practices. You will continuously grow your product and technical domain capabilities, through involvement in projects, research, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You are an enthusiastic member of a high-performing Quality and Testing team, working in a supportive and sharing environment. You are experienced in following an agile scrum methodology and take pride in delivering on-time and on-quality, while contributing to success measured against team and company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automation solutions (e.g., test automation for web, api, and mobile, automated build and deployments, automated process utilities)
• Contribute to the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Test Automation Frameworks.
• Deliver in compliance to established processes, practices, and standards (e.g., automation practices, coding standards, agile scrum methodology, release process)
• Leverage current team skills and lead automation efforts and coaching opportunities.
• Take ownership of automation assets (e.g., coding practices, script maintenance, expansion, quality, continuous improvements)
• Create timely technical documentation.
• Continually learn and grow your expertise with respect to Product knowledge, business domain, and technical domain and tools. Share your knowledge.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, computer science or related field is preferred, with at least 3 years related work experience preferred (additional work experience may be considered in place of degree)
• 3+ years of automated functional and api testing and design experience (with experience in java, selenium, testNG, JSON, Spring, linux, appium, and bitbucket pipelines preferred)
• 3+ years engineering experience with various programming languages (Java with 5+ years’ experience preferred).
• Experience and advanced skills with automation, development, testing, and process tools (e.g., IntelliJ, Jira, Confluence, MS Office, Android Studio, MS Azure, Bitbucket/git, TestComplete, BitBar)
• Experience with source control (git and bitbucket preferred)
• Experience in web applications, web services (REST), and mobile applications
• Experience working with distributed teams and following an agile scrum process.
• An ongoing thirst for new knowledge and ideas, and a passion for software engineering as a QA Automation Engineer
• Creative problem-solving, proficient debugging and profiling
• Excellent English language written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
